Before the election, I pleaded with my Republican family members to just sit this one out because it was obvious how chaotic a Trump presidency would be. Obvious only to me, it turned out.

I’m in a comfy situation, so I know I’m lucky. But I’m honestly excited by the prospect of redefining the Democratic Party (as a big, inclusive, messy process). And the threat of Trump creates the urgency we need.
