Small town guy living a small town life.
I wish it would snow already, it’s the middle of November. And it’s not because I’m Canadian I just don’t want to see or talk to other people and snow and cold is a great reason for like 5 months of peace and quiet. So bring on the snow bring on the -30c temp.

Finished my Halloween yard haunt but for adding the lights. Took a tour of my town and while a few people have store bought scares I must come off as insane to the people of my sleepy lil hamlet. I remember growing up everyone used to at least have pumpkin bags out, where are those people now?

I no longer give movie/tv show recommendations. Do you know how much it hurts to watch someone flip through streaming services for a good 30 min then say “I’m going to bed early can’t find anything good on” like I haven’t downloaded, reccomend and saved things just for them that they will never try

I LOVE Charlotte Gainsborough, always have. Loved her in cement garden and my wife is an actress, my favourite of her movies was the science of sleep it’s weird and brilliant and weird. Did I mention she’s gorgeous? It’s so great she is getting praise for her new show.

Thank goodness my fellow Canadians rejected the cons and their mags like vision for my country #never51

There is no part of the story of Exodus that is true, Ramses didnt die in the Red Sea chasing moses he’s in a museum as a mummy, no Egyptian writings about Hebrew slaves or Moses at all, 40yrs wandering? Were they lost? And no bones or broken cups or plates in all that time?

I’m an atheist and I like holiday themed movies so at Easter I have a tradition with my mom to watch Joseph technicolor Dreamcoat, prince of Egypt and Jesus Christ superstar cause I’m a movie fan and a good son.

Forgot to mention I still did like “I Saw The TV Glow” despite a bunch of flaws. If for no other reason than its connection to and use of “Buffy” as the genre of choice for the trans allegory it tried to skirt. (No pun intended)

Don’t you kind of hate when a movie or writer/director try for a cool allegory about something deep and meaningful but just end up whiffing at it as it passes by? Like if you are in for a penny be in for a pound and go there or don’t bother. Don’t just say it’s all under the surface iykyk. Ugg

P8 come winter my coat was needed at recess so I would carry it in under my shirt and then jam it inside a book cupboard until a teacher found it and announced to the class that a missing back pack was found and needed to be claimed and my world ended. I never recovered.

P7 I’m a doddler so it was never a prob that I was the last to get my books ready or getting my coat and heading home but it was more that I had to wait until everyone I knew would be off the playgrounds before I could retrieve my shame and make my way home, books flapping in the open book bag
March 22, 2025 at 9:33 AM
P6 but that wasn’t enough that was just step 1 to get me inside the school bully free then I pretended to fix my shoe as my classmates made it in the room first as I took my books out rolled up the offending book bag and shoved it in the sleeve of my coat before hanging it at the back of the room

P5 I might have seen an episode as I waited for the next show or had to sit though for my baby sis but this was NOT a show I watched. So when school came my daily ritual of getting dropped off at school by my dad as I folded the front flap inside the backpack obscuring the name and image began

Part 4 there in pastel blue was an option I had not asked for hinted at or otherwise thought of The Snorks name blazed across the fold over book bag with colourful creatures swimming in a swirl of bubbles WTF was this? I cried I begged them to return it. My mom said “oh but you love that show”

Part 3 the only thing holding me back from being a 3rd grade all star was my indecisiveness and the stock at the closest K-mart….. or so I thought. Upon opening the brown paper bag my mom brought home that fateful Saturday my heart sunk I was doomed I simply wouldn’t make it out of that grade alive.
March 22, 2025 at 9:18 AM
Part 2 so to my ever loving shock my mom tells me I can have a new backpack just tell her which one I want. Now this was a time of great tvs and great options, do I go Optimus prune or gi Joe? Do I go thunder cats or a-team? Dukes of hazard or Batman?my options were endless.

The year is 1985, august to be exact and my first day of 3rd grade is fast approaching. I come from a big family and most of them girls so hand me downs were just accepted and so I lived through a mauve knee length snow suit and yellow mittens. Part 1

Watched the Aubrey Hepburn film “Charade” tonight lots of twists and turns for a film of that era. Hepburn is quirky cute and funny charming as per usual but fuck I don’t think I can watch another Carey Grant movie with his fake put upon accent it’s annoying AF

The only Valentine’s Day wish or cards I got today were from 3 and 4 yr olds….ohhh and fist bumps from a 2 yr old. Yeah me

It’s funny how some shows are still just as funny today as they were nearly 40 yrs ago. EVERYTHING holds up in a rewatching of “Perfect Strangers” with Bronson Pinchot as Balki “don’t be ridiculous “ Bartakamous.
