This is on point. If you aren’t feeling it, move on.
What people forget to mention about rule 0 in commander is the vibe. Especially if you’re joining an already existing pod you have to pass the vibe check. You gotta be able to read the room and have good social cues about what the pod wants. If the other players look at you funny you didn’t pass.

I mean, they are really well written but they are so sad. Similar thing happened with EOE. Each side story was very horror like and bleak. Beautifully written but damn.

This is spot on. For conventions, game stores, hobby groups.
It sounds counterintuitive but if you want to be inclusive you have to have standards and eject those that do not meet them.
And if you think being a jerk and smelling like piss is OK in these places, then you need some maturing to do.

I spent an excessive number of years moderating a gaming forum and I learned a great deal about community spaces and cultivation, whether I wanted to or not. I have critical advice for anyone who runs a game store or gaming convention. Please share this thread with people who run those things.

I’ve come to a realization. My current office is a “depression room.” I look forward to going in there to work on projects or sort Magic cards but when I get in there, I don’t do anything.
I know partially why but not completely. It’s frustrating. I’m not sure what the answer is.

I think this comment tweaked me so bad because there is this prevailing view that Gygax and Garfield were the ones to sell their creations directly to Hasbro. (At least among the nerds I’ve spoken with over the years.)
