Stoked to have been a part of this. Promoting access to long-acting #HIV treatment options in LMICs is a critical step forward. #IAS2025
The MPP and ViiV have expanded their agreement to now include cabotegravir long-acting for both #HIV prevention and treatment.
This is the first fully long-acting HIV treatment made available through a voluntary licence in low- and middle- income countries.

INCREDIBLE opinion by Wilkinson refusing to stay Judge Xinis's orders in the Abrego Garcia case, condemning DOJ's arguments as "shocking not only to judges, but to the intuitive sense of liberty that Americans far removed from courthouses still hold dear."

WHO confirmed today that CDC has stopped sharing flu surveillance data through WHO platforms.

The U.S. is facing its most intense flu season in 15 years and is grappling with the threat from bird flu.

The #PEPFAR tracker is following the real time impact of each passing day of the funding suspensions spurred by the USAID funding freeze. Although there is a waiver to allow dispersion of ART, this is not happening because clinic workers have been laid off. People are dying.

🛑Closing down USAID is illegal..

📜It's an independent agency with authorities legislated by Congress.

⚠️The president has no legal authority to unilaterally abolish or move it under the State Department.

This new NIH policy, despite some shortcomings, reflects growing consensus on ensuring public return from public R&D investments, including equitable global access to publicly funded health tools, and sets a key precedent for US agencies and global public research institutions.
For the first time in a generation, NIH is starting to take responsibility for medicine access & making the tech it develops more affordable.

This is a breakthrough, if limited, which finally creates an expectation that drugmakers relying on NIH patents support affordability.🧵
