Rubbing pepper in the wound

Pouring tallow over the wound

Aging the wound in the fridge for a few days

Bringing the wound to room temperature before giving the wound a good sear

Resting the wound…

Wonderful review. So stoked to read this!
“The stories are tight narrative objects—concrete and crystalline.”

Damn I love books. I’m so lucky the things that make me happy cost like $6. Imagine if Lamborghini’s were the thing that made me happy. I’d be fucked

Woke from a stress dream this morning in which I was trying to play the song Foreplay/Longtime by Boston, but couldn't find it on any platform. Like it had been erased from existence. Then I woke up and went and listened to it on the toilet. That song kicks ass. Happy to be alive in this reality.

Fear and Loathing really does capture the essence of life in America in that so much of the book is about sitting in your car while driving yourself insane with paranoia

So great to hear you’ve decided to take a stand against book censorship. Does this mean you’ll be dropping your lawsuit against libraries, too?

The Last Taxi Driver by Lee Durkee is so damn good. So full of electricity and life it practically pulses. Makes me want to run to the page

Loved Killers of the Flower Moon. This late-career run from Scorsese is inspiring. A reminder that as long as you remain open and alive to the world you can continue to make great art (and maybe even your best art) on into the latter part of your life. How fortunate are we to be around while he is?

I’ve always maintained that Wikipedia is one of the only good arguments for the internet and also serves as an ideal template for how a webpage should look and function. We should have never gone past simple html/css pages
when wikipedia launched, the idea that an encyclopedia could be reliably maintained by the public was a joke. now, it's a marvel, a remarkable resource, virtually the only website that remotely delivers on its potential and practically the last pleasant browsing experience on the internet.
