It'll do.

Literally started drawing this poster in June 2022 and stopped because I couldn't make it look right and couldn't photobash it properly.

Of course there's little to no good reference so it is what it is.

Someone thieving my shit again.

Don't know what to do about it.

Genuinely, pisses me off so much, draw your own or use a publicity shot.

#RedDwarf question because I'm not sure whether I'm making it up.

The little polymorph, was it known behind the scenes as Kevin? I don't know where I heard it, or if I'm getting mixed up with the Unspeakable One from Terrorform being known as Barry.

I'm going to see the doctor tomorrow because my mental health is so bad that even I, someone who can't seem to do anything, make phone calls, sort shit out, did something about it.

Only the GP so l'm not expecting much, but it's a start.

My body is rejecting the notion already though haha

I think they're a bit special.

I'm not a total "pop music is rubbish now" curmudgeon, there's an occasional pop song I like, but overall I'm not enthused as a rule.

When I hear one of theirs I haven't heard before though, it just tickles my brain.

Currently addicted to Bed Chem.

Mr Musclelini?

Spent half an hour looking for the right font and couldn't find it, as is the case for most things pre the 90s, so cobbled it together out of a few and some drawn in bits.

Here it is in Argos, circa 1989. £24 something, bit rich.

A bit of research literally no-one will be interested in, I've figured out that Cat's hairdryer from DNA is a Clairol Big Shot B1500.

Accompanying model for my endless Red Dwarf project.

I follow too many talented, experienced, creative people who are in this boat, really gets me down nevermind you.

I hope something comes your way that allows you to do something you enjoy and pay the bills. Seems like an alien concept in the creative industries nowadays.

You couldn't post video on Bluesky when I finished this, so flashback to a time when I did things.

Spent about 2 hours matching the LED pattern to the speech alone.

Also Talkie Toaster is a 2 slot toaster despite the accepted wisdom of other fanart and the one from Mechocracy. #RedDwarf

Now those people have mostly retired, BBC VFX is long gone, and people who've worked in sitcoms on sitcom budgets for donkey's years don't exist either because sitcoms have been out of fashion for a decade or more, never mind scifi sitcoms.

Institutional knowledge has gone. All the BBC series cost roughly the same, but they had BBC VFX in house, providing near movie quality motion control model shoots for near naff all...

Accepted my fate as someone who contributes trivia to the Star Trek Voyager imdb page.

The boot up is cool but the system themes aren't all that imo. They don't work with the new home screen they only launched a couple of months ago, because the themes cut off the top third of whatever your background is. That anniversary PS4 theme was a banger though, still my theme on PS4 even now.

Oh you can post video on here now. Have a render. #RedDwarf

It's a great way of learning to be less wasteful with your polygons and textures when you're using suboptimal equipment, especially if you're self taught like me.

I try and aim for photorealism, but I've got a 2019 laptop with a 1070. Takes a while, but it'll do it if you optimise where you can.

Very nice, just had a ramble through your timeline. Impressive node wrangling too, I'm still a bit of a novice but I do try to use procedural textures mostly. The satisfaction when you get something right is 👌

And Paul's White Midget and Starbug.

But now it seems like communities are dead, dying, or splintered. Hashtags don't do anything, and accounts are inactive, and it just makes me sad that it's so hard to find people to share an interest with

Sometimes if I haven't made something for a while it aches. I need to create summat even if it's just a bit of background set furniture, but I do like to think that people will see the things I do and get a kick out of it, because that's what I think when I see/ saw other people's fan art

When I make 3D models of stuff, I know that it's niche, and I'm not after loads of praise or owt, though some is nice, mainly I do it to stop myself going mad, if it wasn't for Blender being free I'd be so creatively frustrated I'd die, because I cannae afford to physically make things sadly...
