An example from Japanese: the verb ๆ€ฅใ (isogu, to be in a hurry) to me is clearly related to ๅฟ™ใ—ใ„ (isogashii, busy). But native speakers dismiss it because the kanji is different.
Weird language thing:

Possibly it's just that I write for a living, and I just... really like words and etymology, but I'm always surprised when people say "native speakers don't perceive the connection you see." E.g. in French "pรฉter" means to fart. BUT

Can I apply the same logic for other graphic novel authors? At least, the ones who are successful enough to be available in public libraries?
