Calenhad the Carrot was a stunt vegetable who made a number of cameo appearances in Peter Jackson's Lord of the Rings. Most notably in Shorcut to Mushrooms & Bree scenes. Later immortalised in Lego he showed up in various in sets #TolkienTrewsday #LOTR #Tolkien @timbolton.bsky.social

Here's one I've been writing about this week, from the heady fantasy days of 1986 it's John Sibbick's iconic old school cover pic for #Warhammer Fantasy Roleplay 1st edition. Depicting a gang of adventurers storming the Temple of Khorne it's chock full of in-jokes, including Sibbick's severed head 💀

1. Weekend #Tolkien thread as the Fellowship rests in #Lothlorien. Frodo has been traveling side-by-side with lovely Legolas, but he is only one Wood-elf, far from home. Climbing this flet, the hobbit enters a realm where the folk are so different that even time is not the same there. Astonishing.

Got myself a copy of the remastered deluxe edition of Lord of the Rings & currentlywatching. The backgrounds are much crisper and look fantastic in my opinion. And you also get a wee documentary about the man himself @ralphbakshi.bsky.social Brilliant #Tolkien #LOTR
