This year’s Arima Kinen was umazing!
This was actually my first ever horse race, and it was a truly magical experience! Watching all of the horses run made me feel a sensation I had never felt before.

Since I’m in Scotland right now, I figured I’d pay homage to North No. 2, the Scottish robot who appears in Astro Boy: The Greatest Robot on Earth.
I also got to try Cranachan, the Scottish dessert I drew him serving a while ago! It was delicious!

Good to know that Cor Blok and I had the same idea in depicting the scene where Bilbo gives Frodo his gifts! Even down to the characters’ positioning!
The only differences are that Blok’s Frodo has a cool hat and my Bilbo doesn’t suffer from male pattern baldness.

My haul from Oxford! I finally got The Hobbit First Edition Facsimile, a book that I promised I’d get in Oxford since the start of the year!
I also got myself a copy of A Tolkien Tapestry since I’m quite fond of Cor Blok’s LotR art!

Oh yeah, right next to Blackwell’s was a pub called the White Horse, and I took a pic with the hobbits there.
It’s probably more appropriate to call the horse Shadowfax, but I like Gold Ship from Uma Musume so that’s what I’m calling it.

I also got to watch Cabaret at the Playhouse Theatre, and it was perfectly marvelous!
The atmosphere was incredible, and the cast were phenomenal. Fun and beautiful, but also haunting and relevant; Cabaret is one of the greatest musicals ever produced and now my favorite of all time.

I went (returned) to the Sherlock Holmes Museum at 221b Baker Street!
Sherlock Holmes is one of my favorite characters of all time who means a lot to me, so this is definitely one of my happy places!

So my brother’s baker friend reached out to me earlier today and told me that she and her team are apparently Tolkien fans and so were very excited to make these.
Of course I thanked them, but the only thought I had was: “Filipino Tolkien fans! In this day and age?! In this country?!”
