@eddiemuller.bsky.social Damn, I missed your triple bill last night on TCM, incl. Mick Jagger in Performance.

I hope that you mentioned that Scorcese used "Memo From Turner" by Jagger near the end of Goodfellas... great song with amazing slide guitar. Scorcese and Robbie Robertson had great taste!

This makes sense - these massive users of electricity create few local jobs. Most of the jobs are in construction of the building and hooking things up, but most of the equipment is made outside of Canada and the owners are likely not Canadian either

I've said this for weeks: the way to defeat Trump is help with court cases. Get tariffs declared illegal:

At least five different U.S. court cases argue that Mr. Trump is acting contrary to law in using emergency economic legislation to impose border levies.

The good news: Only citizens & landed immigrants can vote. It would be best if it was just citizens.
The bad news: It costs $350,000 to run, which is 5 times what it was a decade ago.
This is nuts. It keeps out candidates who have good ideas, but not well connected.

Despite Trudeau staying on too long and being unpopular, his record will likely be seen much better in the long term:
- 3 election wins, particularly the first one.
- Stronger social programs - pharmacare, dentacare, daycare (much due to the NDP pushing for these)
