Old as these dishes but we’re all still around. Retired public administrator, lawyer, was a lead plaintiff in a gay marriage case, delightfully busy with grandkids.
Taking our morning constitutional, assessing holiday decorations:

Wife: See that Santa figure appearing to climb a rope on the side of that house?

Me: You know chimney soot is a known carcinogen.

Wife:

Me: Well, it is.

Thinking of the friends I've lost. Don't let them erase history!

Retired public official here. Things you need in an elected: good values, kindness, (un)common sense, hires good SMEs they listen to, willingness to make hard decisions, compelling communicator -where we are going and why. Don’t want: wealthy with rich & corporate donors.
for the record, this is how the @nytimes.com covered Bloomberg, a man elected to the same office as Katie Wilson with the exact same amount of experience in public office as Katie Wilson, but whom the paper did not view with obvious contempt www.nytimes.com/2001/11/07/n...

Thinking about supplementing retirement by opening a bunch of Subway franchises near ICE facilities.

“Walmart was the top employer of SNAP recipients in five states and one of the top four employers in the remaining four states. McDonald’s was among the top five employers of Medicaid enrollees in five of six states and SNAP recipients in eight of nine states.”

Whenever people complain about the number of folks relying on food stamps, it is worth reminding them that SNAP is, by too large of a degree, a subsidy for corporations that refuse to pay a living wage and their political allies who reject public policy prescriptions to reduce income inequality.

I see we are all going "I am Spartacus" with anteefa, including job titles. I’m in the 'against fascism' org. I am the Chief Executive Grandma in charge of bubble making and tea parties. We ride at dawn!

The constant curly hair struggle. I’ve decided to take the position that what’s going on on the back of my head is none of my business.

My mom’s 90, not tech capable. Kept complaining that her search for e-books was coming up with few books and they were all “smut.” Went through her account and found she had picked the filter “mature content” for her murder mystery library search. She thought it was murder books for seniors . . .

EVIL. They are trying to put CHILDREN without any family members on a plane and drop them in Guatemala. Everything this administration does is just evil.

We are not bending towards justice right now. I want off this part of the roller coaster.

I would like to have a government where the most annoying problem was daylight savings time.

Changed a "crime scene" diaper on my granddaughter this morning. Decided it was better than paying attention to the stock market.

Need a distraction fr “the end of the world as we know it?” The Residence, Netflix, Uzo Aduba. Hilarious, driving narrative, elaborate backstories and fascinating detail, endless characters, wild cast, cinematography, sound. Only thing that has gotten me out of my head for a few minutes in months.

Take care of grandkids a couple of days a week. Toddlers/preschoolers are filled with delightful innocence and joy. They are also filled with germs. Currently enjoying dysentery like I’m on the Oregon trail.

My mom is age 90. No cell phone, can't navigate internet or leave her senior center. She can't go online or to an office. I manage it all. How many seniors don't have me? I'm a senior too, late 60s. Was waiting to optimize Social Security-now feels like a joke despite paying for 53 years.

I am currently experiencing a rapid unscheduled disassembly due to this administration. Can we have a very large nationwide assembly to help us all with this?

Wrote to reps: Oppose nominees, deny unanimous consent, vote no on cloture, force quorum calls. File articles of impeachment! File a new one every day based on whatever "Treason, Bribery, or high Crimes and Misdemeanors" happened that day. Physically stand with federal employees. #DidThisToday
