Yesterday marked the 45th anniversary of the New Cross Fire. We remember the fourteen young Black lives lost and stand in remembrance, reflection and unity.

this evening. Expressing solidarity with Lewisham’s Jewish Community and celebrating our strength in diversity @brendadacres.bsky.social

The news coming from Australia today is heartbreaking & horrific. Chanukah is a time of celebration, joy and light. My thoughts are with the victims and their loved ones.

I will be liaising with local police & our Jewish community to offer support.

London faces a choice: the politics of protest, or the politics of progress.

We’re building homes. Others are blocking them.

My op-ed in @thelondonstandard.bsky.social
on why Lewisham, @london.gov.uk and our #Labour government are up for the fight.
‘Just as Lewisham reached the point of turning years of consultation into meaningful change, Jeremy Corbyn swept into the borough at the eleventh hour’
London has to choose homes over protest

It was a pleasure to attend last night’s Black History Month celebration and hear from Deputy Prime Minister David Lammy.

Inspiring to meet so many remarkable people, including André who has passed his Bar exams, secured pupillage and like me, is a proud member of Middle Temple.

London boroughs drive growth, tackle poverty and provide vital services.

However, their ability to do that is under threat from the Fair Funding Review, which could cut council spending by £700m.

Read CLF Chair @adamhug.bsky.social on the impact this would have here ⬇️
'London's streets aren't paved with gold. Cuts would hit the poorest the hardest' - LabourList
Any changes that result in a further reduction in funding for deprived boroughs risks deepening inequality.
