Woah! Former Rapids coach Chris Armas reportedly taking the Kansas City Current head coaching job.

Big time NWSL job. Current was upset by eventual champ Gotham FC in the first round of the playoffs this year.

-$1.9 million total GAM, $1.15 million in 2026, $750,000 in 2027
-Up to $600,000 additional GAM in incentives
-Sell-on clause if future transfer exceeds an undisclosed amount.

Per Colorado Rapids CBO Haley Durmer, whether or not the club's brand identity will actually change will be entirely up to the fan base. Surveys, fan forums and focus groups will be the basis of figuring out what fans want regarding a brand change.

Can confirm the reporting around Rapids finalizing the signing of defensive midfielder Hamzat Ojediran for $3m.

To me this signals a couple things:

-Larraz not coming back (this was likely the case anyway
-Someone will be played out of position out of Ojediran, Bassett, Atencio

I was told the Rapids' decision to host their April 18 match at Empower was made independent of who the opponent was, and that the Rapids and Broncos were discussing playing the match there before the schedule was released.

Dante Sealy's current contract is through 2026 with a club option for 2027. Reports today on deal being in final stages for Sealy to become newest Rapid for $2 million GAM.

Matt Wells will travel to Colorado and join the Rapids early next week, I'm told.

Tottenham plays Nottingham Forest on Sunday at the City Ground. Not clear whether he'll be on the bench that day.

BREAKING: Rapids 2 GM Brian Crookham has been named MLS NEXT Pro Executive of the Year.

Crookham led the way for some of the best signings and draftees in the league last season, like Sydney Wathuta, Mamadou Billo-Diop and Sam Bassett. R2 lost in the MLS NEXT Pro final.
