South Oxford's fantastic exhibition on the 42 men from Grandpont, Cold Harbour and New Hinksey who died in service during WW2 will be running from 12 - 30 March at Westgate Library.

Road Safety on Wytham Street 🚧🚴🚶

It was fantastic to see the cycle markings have been repainted, reminding drivers that this is a busy active travel route, including for children going to/from school.

I am still pressing for the junction give way markings to be repainted.

Our local TVP Safer Neighbourhood Team will be offering free bike markings near the grassy area at Manzil Way on Saturday14th February at 1pm.

PCSOs and PCs will also be there if you would like to raise any issues.

Flooding on Cavell Road💧🚧

Thames Water have identified a potential leak to the clean water network in the area causing localised groundwater flooding. They are attending today to try and locate the leak.

Fantastic to see plans to improve road safety on Morrell Avenue as part of Labour’s £6 million Active Neighbourhoods scheme.

👷‍♂️ Relining works on Warwick and Parker St 🛣️

ODS will be undertaking a deep clean of Warwick and Parker Streets on 4th February (subject to weather). They will also be replacing the lines and markings. A letter drop will be undertaken prior to the work commencing.

I welcome the commissioning of advice for parents on how long under-5s should be looking at screens.

Evidence already shows high screen use (5+ hours a day) can have big negative impacts on learning and development.

This morning Labour Councillors met with firefighters to discuss major proposed changes to our Fire Service.

Labour is extremely concerned about these changes which could reduce fire engines, force redundancies and reduce night cover.
