This is excellent advice! A lot of people think putting out human hair or pet fur is good but it’s problematic both for chemicals on them and for baby bird feet tangling. Jute/feathers/plant materials/sticks/leaves all good to leave out for them. ❤️ 🐦⬛🪺
🧵1/3 Give nesting birds a helping hand this spring.
Last yr I cut a 2 metre section of undyed natural jute string into 3cm lengths & blitzed it in a processor until soft & fluffy.
The jute makes a great construction material - as seen when boxes were cleaned in the autumn.

I took 6 Amazonian wasp stings to the torso to get this shot!! Honestly, it was so worth it - look at these gorgeous gills!! The sting right by my spinal cord I could still feel throbbing for months afterward... all in the name of mushroom photography!!

The Winter Chanterelles were so good, I headed out again today for a top up. So many there, but in such a confined area, only a few meters square. Had I stuck to the path, I'd never have noticed them.
Also spotted a very Geiger-esque Earthball on the way back.
