With Elon coming for govt spending it is a good time to remind people that govt w/sovereign currencies do no operate "like a business" bc they can print their own money. Your taxes don't pay for the fed govt, they take money out of the economy to limit inflation. This is Modern Monetary Theory.

In my experience, whenever you are having a problem, whether big or small, start at the library. They have the most free resources and people willing to help you figure things out.

For me, the Republicans holding the House is the most shocking result. I mean I k kw there was a lot going on with the Repub ticket but the House was such a mess.

Here is my election take. 107 days simply isn't enough time to run a successful campaign. Especially when you start in enough extremely unfavorable position due to inflation, an unpopular incumbent you are tied to and a toxic media environment.

My friends and I keep talking about how the stuff you're going to end up doing to help, if you're serious about helping, is not going to look heroic or cool. 99.9% of the work is tiny and boring and all the main characters are gonna have to reckon with that.
