AAAAA cakemergency - baked a new to me recipe I promised for a donation tomorrow, thought it was just delicate, turns out it’s absolutely raw in the middle. Was mostly cooled when I realized. Am trying madcap dumb shit to fix it. Thoughts and prayers.

people doing slave labor for Nazis during WWII often sabotaged their munitions and other vital items, despite the difficulty of sneaking defective goods past QC, and despite the fact that they would be summarily executed on the spot if they were caught. the stakes right now are so much lower.

It's hardly the most egregious failure of fact checking from the New York Times recently, but this outrageous assertion tells me that nobody who edited this story has actually read this book to a child. My poor husband has been waiting at home all day for a repairman and I just got the weirdest sounding automated call that told me that our technician will be arriving soon and “please have the machine accessible and ready to be serviced” and it sounded like a robot is coming to fuck our dryer.

Good news: I have utterly destroyed the persistent problem with library book groups - you can never get people under retirement age or ESPECIALLY men to attend.
