Eavesdropping accidentally on two middle aged men talking about dealing with grief and recommending books on it to each other and you know, I forget sometimes that things ARE better, sometimes, than they were when I was younger?

Okay you can go to all the childbirth classes, you can read all the books, nobody tells you one day you will be minding your own damn business in the bathroom and you look over at the counter and there is a human tooth.

And you will go to work and come home and now there are TWO human teeth. Two.

One by one, Europeans mentioned in the Epstein files who still hold political office are beginning to resign or are being forced out of office.

Meanwhile, ruled by an administration almost entirely made up of Epstein associates, the US carries on as if nothing really happened.

people doing slave labor for Nazis during WWII often sabotaged their munitions and other vital items, despite the difficulty of sneaking defective goods past QC, and despite the fact that they would be summarily executed on the spot if they were caught. the stakes right now are so much lower.

If I were a man I might be worried about All Creatures Great and Small. Like which one is it? Is that a grower/shower situation?

Y’all, I’d been sleeping on Elizabeth Hoyt. Read an ARC of her latest and liked it well enough, picked up Duke of Sin because I ran across it trying to find something specific for a library patron and why is it hot that this man keeps biting her?

It's hardly the most egregious failure of fact checking from the New York Times recently, but this outrageous assertion tells me that nobody who edited this story has actually read this book to a child. The entire book is narrated (beautifully) in the third person. 1/ www.nytimes.com/2025/12/14/s...

as a lesbian activist & proud race traitor, I'll say it: Alex Pretti was the hero we needed to lay his life down for freedom, because the people who weren't already aware of the stakes didn't see themselves in Renee Macklin Good (ask me how I know)

My poor husband has been waiting at home all day for a repairman and I just got the weirdest sounding automated call that told me that our technician will be arriving soon and “please have the machine accessible and ready to be serviced” and it sounded like a robot is coming to fuck our dryer.

Good news: I have utterly destroyed the persistent problem with library book groups - you can never get people under retirement age or ESPECIALLY men to attend.

Bad news: I do not know how I did it.
