Noisy compared to 2020 RE, but the sound & cover images on this OG are crisper, punchier. Racionais MC's, Raio X Brasil - Liberdade De Expressão (Zimbabwe, 1993). Sometimes love for faves fades; I've been listening to these guys for over a decade & it just grows with every listen

I might have missed it but really did no one include this brilliant gut-wrenching LP in their AOTYs? This could change, I suppose, but at the moment it's tied for me between this & Marie de la Nuit's Transportees. Nadah El Shazly, Laini Tani (One Little Independent Records, 2025)

My GOD this's a great fucking record. Two side-length live tracks from New Jersey 1975. Free jazz? M80s? Guitars? "Death to the alchemists!" WTF. Bangone Ensemble, Live At The Ledge 1975 (Open Mouth, 2025). Came highly recommended by Brian at Record Grouch & now I'm recommending it to you
