This is a building that completely stumped me: The Armouries on the current site of St. Lawrence Market. Succeeded by the now lost building on University Avenue? No idea it existed.

I don't like to fall into the "I like the before better" and "We destroy everything" commentary because it's not an exclusively Toronto thing when pretty buildings get knocked down....BUT this one hurts.

I saved about a hundred articles about a two day strike in Toronto a hundred years ago. Not sure if it's been written about or if I can even do something with it....BUT at the least I can say I know 'jitneys' were a thing!
