Packing up my old galley ready for a refit. Balancing excitement and trepidation. Any advice on how to live healthily without a kitchen for a month gratefully received.

If I had a decent zoom camera, you’d see the beautiful colours of our local kingfisher, who had just caught his lunch when I took this pic earlier. Such vibrant colours - we’re so lucky to see them so much around here 😃

Time for my 3 yearly Watersports First Aid training course. I need to do this to maintain my RYA instructors qualification but would recommend it for all boaters

Nervously awaiting my phone number porting which ‘failed’ yesterday. Both old and new networks insisted it’s not them, to contact the other. Much back and forth until finally the new one admitted a technical error, promising it will port today. If it doesn’t I request permission to cry!!

My (Narrowboat) solar panels are thick with snow - I really should’ve cleared them to make the most of the sun. But my cost benefit analysis found that staying in, under two blankets & not slipping off my icy gunnels into frigid water was better than a marginal gain in amps, volts or watt’ever.

the gradual replacement of “exchanging money for goods” with “exchanging money for a license to use goods as a service” has been one low key one of the worst changes of the 21st century
this is exactly why i still buy discs in 2023. it's crazy to think that we are reaching a point where piracy will be the only option to own media once dvds and blu-rays are gone.

We boaters marked through Birmingham city centre today against Canal and River Trust’s discriminatory licence fee hikes. It’s a continuation of their long campaign to price travelling boaters off the water. We won’t let them destroy our way of life.
