In 2017, I interviewed Jamie Campbell Bower, who was funny and awesome. Afterward, he told me he had to pee really bad, so I showed him where the restroom area was located. Unfortunately, he was called onstage with his fellow castmates, so he skipped going to the restroom and joined everyone.

Right so here's my full breakdown on why The Collector (2009) is a sequel to Home Alone (1992)

Kinell SC 15 Sept 2023. So here is why The Collector is the *sequel* to Home Alone The Collector is Kevin McAllister. Macaulay Culkin is the same age as me, which makes him 12 in Home Alone, and 29 in The Collector. This is about accurate for his physical capabilities, and also his accelerated prep time - he uses multiple of the same traps in both, upright nails in areas where feet will be exposed, the glue traps etc As they say on the pod, the turnaround on the preparation is impossible - unless you have 17 years experience to perfect your skills & you already had the ability to turn it around in one night as a literal child The target is the burglar It was never about the family, they're zipped up restrained and out the picture before Arkin even turns up & Kevin didn't even need any traps to do it. It was all about torturing a burglar with wacky traps in a big mansion. The Collector had the gaff *and the job* staked out & anyone else who rocks up gets banged out rapid. His violence towards the police particularly points to Kevin's disdain for law enforcement, which dates right back to when he started rigging paint cans on string instead of just calling the cops It's not his first rodeo He certainly knows how to rig a mansion, but he needs someone else's mansion to rig. Makes sense, no burglar is confident enough to try the Macalister gaff a second time after how it went for the first lads who tried He has complicated feelings regarding his childhood relationship with his brother Buzz It's not his first rodeo He certainly knows how to rig a mansion, but he needs someone else's mansion to rig. Makes sense, no burglar is confident enough to try the Macalister gaff a second time after how it went for the first lads who tried He has complicated feelings regarding his childhood relationship with his brother Buzz The Collector is a sociopath who revels in cruelty and almost never shows empathy - this is hinted at in the HA films with Kevin's refusal to call the authorities in favour of torture, being mates with trump etc - the only time The Collector really has any kind of emotional reaction is to the F slur and to a spider. The only time Arkin gets a rise out of The Collector is when he starts dropping homophobic slurs. Now Buzz might not have used any in Home Alone, but as a 1992 older brother bully I promise he used to throw F slurs around like a pissed auntie with wedding confetti. Homophobia was the bully's main currency them times - in the sequel The Collection Arkin tried running the same bit without the slurs but Kev doesn't bite that time - regular insults don't catch him off guard like that, he only responds to homophobia because it triggers his past trauma being bullied in his own home - the last time he truly felt defenseless The spider reminds him of Buzz' pet tarantula, which of course played in The Collector's first night of terror that fateful Christmas eve in 1992, and that reminds him of Buzz. Again, Kevin values spiders as a special creature for this reason. He is elsewhere shown being actively cruel to humans and animals, and the fact his cover is an exterminator shows he has no issue killing other insects The Collector is a weirdo He's doing alright these days but 2009 Macaulay Culkin was on fuckeries. He was decent in that half a series of American Horror Stories tbf
