So I’m in the middle of a Sewing 101 class, & last night I set in a zipper, & the feeling of accomplishment might be enough to overcome the nausea caused by the knowledge that I may never be able to retire because losses in the stock market are approaching April 1932.

Welp, I start a four week sewing class on Monday to overcome the PTSD I have from 7th grade sewing, where the first project was a 4 panel skirt, cut on the bias, with a set in waistband and a zipper, WTF?

The boys’ (yes, separate, but not equal) class made a potholder.

I just created my login.gov account so I can see if my social security statement is still accessible and why do I feel like I’ve signed everything over to a Musk minion?

All the Colors of the Dark by Chris Whitaker.

What I admire about good writers is their ability to take your emotions in hand and leave you wrecked.

And what boggles me is from what depths in their psyches they can create such stories.

Just brilliant. Wrenching. Brilliant.

And I am salivating at the prospect of mapping stitches to this gorgeous #WhimsyandGrace canvas that I picked up recently at Annie & Company in NYC.

But the chicken comes first.

Currently underway is the “Inductive Chicken” (don’t ask), which I may have started before the new millennium. My hands, too long used to #knitting/#crocheting/#weaving live in fear of #packedstem and #frenchknots.

And I found this finished piece showcasing raised and padded stitches, and why didn’t I get this framed, what the heck? #needlework #needlepoint

Now that I am an orphan, I have time to rummage through closets and finish WIPs, like this lovely free hand bit of #bargello I may have started 18 years ago.
