Started working on a general purpose job scheduler in Go, github.com/jacobmcgowan...
To quickly add skin tone and hair color variations to my son's communication board, I wrote a tool edit an entire folder of SVG files, [svg-quick-edit](github.com/jacobmcgowan...) and a [script](gist.github.com/jacobmcgowan...) using that to generate variations of the Mulberry symbols.

Scientists and journalists need to figure out right quick how to explain to the average person how a massive change in research indirects will impact the medical care they and their children get (eg at the local children’s hospital), the education their children will get, the price of tuition, etc.

Since finding out that my son and I are autistic, I have felt very lucky that I fell in love with programming. Not only do I get to work in a field with many other people like us but I can also use my skills to help my son by fixing issues we find with open source tools like cboard.io.
