For those of you who had issues where bluesky's built in post notifications didn't take you to the post, that should be fixed now!
OTA fix is rolling out - now, when you tap on a push notification, they actually take you to the post/user/etc!

Everything is back to normal!
I'm still not sure what the source of the networking issue was, but it was a great fire drill and BlueNotify is running on the original server again.
As far as I can tell, zero notifications were lost despite the issues!

For the past two hours, most notifications on BlueNotify weren't sending. Sorry for the sudden burst of notifications! All missed notifications were sent all at once when I brought the system back online. It looks like no notifications were missed in the process.

Just pushed out a server update that should speed up notifications for posts from popular users.
Hank replies in particular used to take up to a minute to send notifications for to everyone, now they should go out in a few seconds!

New BlueNotify update v1.2.3!
- now you can add "Required words" and "Blocked Words" to fine tune which posts you get notifications for
- better UI when you have multiple accounts
- fixed a handful of errors that certain users were experiencing

Bluesky's jetstream is back online. BlueNotify notifications will continue going out (and the system is processing the backlog so no notification should be missed!)

Bluesky's jetstream (live API feed of all posts) is currently offline, so BlueNotify notifications will be delayed until it comes back.
Interestingly there was a HUGE spike in posts right before it happened. I'm curious if there was some attack on bluesky's infrastructure that did it.

New update for BlueNotify- iPhones and web users should now see their notification history like android, and you should start seeing images in your notifications!
The edit notifications tab should also be faster, along with a lot of other little improvements.

Android users who were having issues tapping notifications, it turns out the issue was related to Google Play Services "proxying" notifications before sending them to a code library BlueNotify was using.
I've applied a workaround that should have fixed the issue permanently!

Users who had issues where tapping notifications didn't open the bluesky app:
I spent all weekend troubleshooting and the bug appears to come from a service google has for handling notifications. I was able to add a workaround that makes notifications tappable again for you!

You shouldn't notice any difference whatsoever (in fact, the new system should be faster and more reliable!) but if you do see anything weird going on with your BlueNotify notifications, let me know!

BlueNotify should now give you notification sound and vibration on iPhones!
To disable, swipe your notification to the left, tap "Options", and go to "View Settings", and turn off the "Sounds" toggle.

Bluenotify had an outage for about an hour and a half this morning while I was sleeping - it turns out the recent influx of users took down the $4 a month server I was paying for, and I've upgraded to a $7 a month server with twice as much CPU.
Everything should be running smoothly again now!
