Tangential opinion. Where has nobody made a car seat that is actually easy to get in the car, without you banging your shins, head on the car. I have spent £50 on a car seat, I have spent £300 on a car seat. Equal number of shouty cunts and fucks were said while installing each.
Buying a car seat, 97% say it's bad & it will kill your baby. 3% say it's amazing, just ignore the negative reviews. These reviews are written by people who make a buck selling car seats and have paid a lot for review visibility. That's what's happening climate change.

I would get Ancillary Justice picked up again.
OK, less contentious post:

You've been placed in charge of a movie studio, and have an unlimited budget to adapt any work of your choosing that has never been made into a live-action TV series or film. What are you picking?

For me: PC Hodgell's Kencyrath Cycle and there's no close second

They've only gone and merged it while I was away. No comments either. Not even a LGTM. Reduced our test coverage (which wasn't great to start with) by 7%. Absolute clowns.
They've added 20 more files today, one of them with 3000 lines in it.

Genuine response I got , when I asked why there was no tests.

"We don't need to write tests, as this is Java code converted to C#, and we know the Java code works, as it's been working for 17 years"
Me: it's important to respect your reviewers time and submit small PR's

Love this still

The hint of a smile cracking across Joshua's utterly unperturbed face, contrasted with the horror on Paul's as he realises he's about to get smacked into the 25th century.

Mixed feelings about this. On the one hand think I think I £100 is too much already and I'd prefer to be able to set a custom amount, on the other, I hope banks do offer that option and set a sensible default, not just lifting the limits entirely.

Every day this guy just plumbs new depths of disrespect
Per @garretthaake.bsky.social, the extremely tacky "presidential wall of fame" that lines the colonnade to the West Wing now has obviously-Trump-penned plaques insulting or praising the presidents.

Once you see it, it's hard to miss it. Statements condemning violent attacks targeting Jews that don't actually mention "Jews" or "antisemitism".

This is a choice — and it's central to the crisis.

The least well known of these films, The Sure Thing, is a great teen comedy, and probably second after Grosse Pointe Blank on my list of favourite John Cusack films.
This has to be one of the greatest runs any director has ever experienced.
