NEW! Episode 269 - Night crickets distant waves at Folkestone Warren (sleep safe)

We're back in Kent for this week's episode. It is August. The middle of the night.

Listen to natural murmurings from this peaceful place.

Thread - I've been thinking a lot about Walter Lippmann’s Public Opinion lately, especially in the context of Musk’s role in dismantling the federal workforce through DOGE. It’s a perfect example of what Lippmann warned about over a century ago.

I found a recording of #TheWaterboys playing When Doves Cry by #Prince. I don't even remember doing it, but it was 1986 during the #FishermansBlues era.

Because some damn fool asked, here's a thread about Baxter.

This was taken on the day I brought home Baxter and threw away all hope of an easy life.

Look at him. Absolutely irresistible.

And that's how they get you, the utter bastards

What's most disappointing about this is the total misunderstanding of the asset that WBD/Disney/Eurosport have had in broadcasting/ streaming cycling. Packaging it in with other bigger sports in a "Premium" package is completely the wrong thing to do. 1/2.

I'm a cathedral nerd. Here are some things that you might not notice about it – just from that one photo.
THREAD.

1. You can see straight down the nave to the apse. No medieval English cathedral has that.
