What a pleasure to study William Blake's unique illustrations for Thomas Gray's poem "The Bard" at the YCBA. Blake inserted the printed text into a cutout in the centre of a larger sheet of watercolor paper, an absolutely novel way of approaching the relationship between text and image.

I thank them for taking the time to get to know what I was going for!

"The press release explicitly draws a parallel to the prophetic books of William Blake, and the comparison is anything but superficial."

Paid a visit this morning to the Museum of Fine Arts, primarily because they have a special exhibition of William Blake prints. I'm a fan of Blake as an artist and a poet. Given most of the exhibits came from The Tate, why didn't I see it in the UK. Well for one I had the whole exhibition to myself.

Was William Blake, one of England’s greatest poets, actually Irish? Scholars have long maintained that WB Yeats was being fanciful when he claimed one of England’s greatest poets was in fact Irish. But Philip Hoare’s new book suggests an alternative possibility

Art by Tacita Dean, Anne Imhof, Kiki Smith, William Blake and so many more.
