But all that is to say success is an elusive goal and the friends you make along the way are more important (sick-making, but true). We work hard to be an inclusive, welcoming and supportive group and we're really proud of our positive little community and we think you'd like it too

But we really don't care about where you've come from, we want to know what you'll be like to work with - can you take constructive criticism and can you also provide it - and what you're aiming for with your writing. But that is secondary to the vibe

I think it's time to talk a little about our workshop process and how we as a group operate. We ask people thinking about joining to send through a brief writing sample, just a couple of pages, with a little personal introduction. This is for the vibe check but also to see what you're working on

We charge a small fee (in cash) per session to cover our expenses and the venue also asks we purchase something there too but the cost is quite low. We do not run this as a business so it's pretty reasonable if I do say so

We ask anyone who is considering joining to send up a brief introduction (who you are, what the group would help you achieve) and a sample of their work so we can assess where you are and if we can help. There will be a form on the website or I can offer the address here as needed

So I thought I would introduce our group for anyone who is looking for a writers workshop in southeast London. We meet every other Thursday at a location to workshop two pieces. Fiction of any genre is our wheelhouse but we occasionally do scripts too
