I have no hate in my heart. I don’t understand hate. When I say, “white people,” I’m speaking of the structure and the destruction inherent in whiteness. You may not have contributed to both, but you can’t help but contribute to one. Your being is a part of the structure. Change begins there.
Every journalist could have walked out of that room, in solidarity. They should know by now, that job doesn't care about you. Their employer will settle a suit they could win just to please that man and get other business through. Perhaps we're all little piggies, heading to slaughter.

Representing a news agency or not, White House or not, you call me "piggy," the way I would have jumped over everyone to get to him would have not only made me lose my job, but also find me in jail. How much more are we gonna take of this cretin?

America is a corporation. The President its C.E.O. The citizens are merely the workforce. Like America, that job does not care about you.

Netflix will make a docuseries about every white true crime story out there, but nothing on Tamla Horsford, a lone Black woman, mother of 5, at a party with a large group of white women, that mysteriously died. I guess their target market wouldn't want to see that.

For @msmagazine.com, I wrote about the WNBA and the issue of pay equity. By the time the WNBA was only two seasons in (1999-2000) the average NBA salary was 58 times higher than the average WNBA salary. Twenty-six years later, the gap has jumped to 116 times higher.

Quiet as it's kept, like so many men, Bill Clinton never wanted Hillary to be president.

We traded community for things. That made us protect things more than community.

I've said it and believe, sports will be the set it off that propels us to deal with the racial divide, as it always has. Some say, "These young kids just care about the money." If you believe that, you are like the white fans in the stands that just care about what they do on the court/field.

No matter how good, social media directors for politicians are one post away from being fired. Politicians are not. Does that seem right?

Intellectually, I understand the concept of pretending to be something you’re not, but I’ve never believed in it. People are who they are. It’s other’s that make excuses for it. Sadly, as the saying goes, “It is what it is.”

Toilet paper is so wasted. We use more of it to keep our hands clean than wiping our butts.

That. Is. America.
