Mental, spiritual, & financial abuse are no less "real" just because there seemed to be no physical coercion involved-- and, not for nothing, the threat of physical violence is never as far away from these forms of abuse as many people assume.

It's not a failure or our fault that we can't "fix" anyone else. Hell, we can't "fix" ourselves. "Fixing" isn't what healthy relationships are about anyway, w/ others or ourselves.
What we CAN do for them is what we can do for us: listen, accept, support, love. Not try to "fix."
