The league has pivoted away from being a sports league and toward being an entertainment league. Coaches and refs are encouraged to participate toward that end. Perhaps some players are too. 🧵

I have no issue with the name Portland Fire.

The general public doesn’t understand the WNBA fan base. We reject the sensationalized narrative of one person being the face of the league. We enjoy the competitiveness on the court and know that these women take nothing for granted. They mostly respect each other and we stan many of them!

The reason the NBA is a garbage product (and so is MNCAA basketball) is the one and done stuff.
When players need to be older to get drafted they:
1. Mature + learn to play in real coaching systems during college
2. Get stronger + healthier due to professional support in college
3. Have degrees
