Leeds v Man U, October 76. I’ve never heard the ‘bombers’ story before. Even by 1970s standards, that’s absolutely crazy. The graffiti could very easily have come true…

‘United we Stand’…can’t understand how this never took over from MOT as the club anthem! Some classic dry Wilko humour and a confused Harry Bassett wondering why he’s being asked to comment on an #LUFC song…

Liverpool 0 Leeds 0 1970 - Paul Madeley scores for Leeds with the last kick of the game but the ref disallows it, saying he blew the final whistle as the ball was on its way into the net! Never heard of this incident before but Revie seems to have taken it in his stride!

View from the Elland Road Kop in 1949. Looks quite empty when compared to the packed ‘popular side’/ Lowfields and Scratching Shed.

John McCole, the last #LUFC player to score in 6 consecutive top flight games. That was in 1959/60 when Leeds were relegated. (Hope that’s not a bad omen!) He scored 53 goals in 85 appearances for Leeds before being sold to Bradford for £8000.

For anyone who doesn’t know, the Leeds City dog was called Roy….Course he was, obvious name for a dog in those days!

‘He followed the ‘621 past Elland Road towards the inner ring road, the giant floodlights rising from the grey mist of south Leeds. Leeds are second division now, but they’re letting the world know they still matter, they aren’t going anywhere.’ #nineteen85

Classic #70sLeeds photo. The West Stand facade under a washed-out, grey sky and Don staring across the car park towards Fullerton Park, thinking he should be up there with Les and the lads, preparing for Saturday. 👏🏻

Strangely the answer to this wasn’t Nigel Davey. It was actually David McNiven disguised in Nigel’s old tracksuit. Why? Who knows, no one seemed to care about things like that back then!

Can anyone name the player training with Sniffer in their Admiral tracksuits?

Clue- this is #70sLeeds where misspelt names in tracksuits and upside down badges were common!

Big twitter debate on this and the front runners for mystery #LUFC Santa seem to be Ormsby and Mclelland. For me, the nose is wrong for Ormsby but I’m also not convinced on JM. Someone has checked the programme and strangely it doesn’t say who it is. It might have to remain a mystery…
