Meet Harty. Likes Carlos Santana, Reading (assume books not the town) and MASH (the TV show not the potato dish?) Dislikes gardening and hooliganism (bet he wasn’t happy about Ferdinand, Wise and the Blue Peter garden!) Ambitions look a bit optimistic for late #70sLeeds!

Someone on twitter found a photo of the 1968 Rangers ‘giant screens’. Hopefully will bring back some memories for those who were there…

1968- wonder if this was the first ever ‘beam-back game’ at Elland Road? Assume the ‘giant screens’ were on the pitch…did anyone go to it?

The King’s return? I’m guessing this is a late 50s visit from John Charles after he’d gone to Italy. Leeds players are, I think, Grenville Hair, Gerry Francis, Big Jack, ??, Archie Gibson?, Chris Crowe, George Meek. Not sure who the other bloke in the suit is?

You’re right! Different kit but bizarrely same celebration, same end, same shirt, same weather!

Iconic mid-80s Elland Road shot - Baird, WGK shirt and permed long-back, scoring against top of the table Oxford in April 85 in front of the Kop and nearly empty Lowfields seats. All that’s missing is the copper stood on the grass bank! #nineteen85

It’s mentioned in the Leeds Forgotten Games book

I’ll be impressed if anyone can name this game…even more impressed if anyone was there! Clues- Leeds team included Lukic in goal, Connor, Barnes, Sabella and Graham upfront and I think it was Brian Greenhoff who gave the penalty away…

Saturday night in the early 70s you’d most likely find the #LUFC stars at Club Nouveau on East Parade or at Cinderellas Rockerfellas, Merrion Way. Looking at the girl’s expression maybe Sniffer and Mick the Mover were nicknames earned on the dance floor not the pitch?!

Anything on telly tonight? Saturday night viewing back in the days when we had 4 channels, no Sky, Netflix, YouTube or chipped fire sticks!

Remember 1985? When it really was grim up north, and especially in Leeds 11…

‘We’ll have new stars, you’ll see. Young Wright there and Sellars. They’ll get us back up where we belong.’ #nineteen85

Tommy and Scott, Shez and Irwin. The writing was on the wall for Eddie and his very young team when we missed out on promotion in 85.

You’ll never see a photo like this nowadays- an unsegregated end, an away player celebrating a goal, a few fans celebrating, no abuse from the rest and no iPhones being brandished. Pretty sure it’s at QPR 1974.

Neil Aspin instructs a young Roger Eli on how to do the #LUFC pre-match centre circle wave on his debut in the 5-2 win over Wimbledon in December 1984. I’m surprised we were still doing it then. Anyone remember when it stopped? #nineteen85

Bonfire night in Blandford Gardens, Woodhouse, LS2 in the days before Health and Safety and Public Liability insurance when you just burnt your ‘chumps’ at the end of the street!

Phil Hughes in a rare appearance in goal for Leeds in 84/85. He played 4 times that season including a 1-1 draw with Man City in front of a bumper bank holiday crowd of 22,000! (The following week we beat Notts County 5-0 with 11,000 there) #nineteen85

Someone posted this on Facebook about Elland Road in the late 60s. Anyone remember Sammy, King of the Kop and these chants? Can’t see these being resurrected somehow…
