Of course the billionaire founder of Politico was surprised that people canceled their WaPo subscriptions over Bezos' capitulation to Trump. He cannot fathom people wanting to support institutions they believe share their values and aren't transparently hypocritical in claiming to support democracy.

It’s too bad I had to read a couple of screenshotted pages in a book to learn this instead of reading it in the news media that I’ve subscribed to for decades (until October ‘24 for the most part)

The head-smacking bureaucratic snafu that left the FBI flying blind in the lead up to Jan. 6 was happening on this very day four years ago, and honestly it was dumber than you probably imagined.

Starting a non-political account here for public consumption. It feels like we have a critical mass of arts, technology, science and literature to make this worthwhile. 😊
