City staff installed a painted crosswalk and road signage on Edwards Road near the DCTA Rail Trail one month earlier than originally anticipated. The new pedestrian crossing was originally built without basic safety infrastructure for people walking and biking.

Traffic crashes killed 11 people since Nov. 2023 in the City of Denton and 4,167 people in Texas.

City of Denton is currently adding sidewalks along Loop 288 between US 380 and McKinney St. The sidewalks will replace dirt paths created by frequent pedestrian and bicycle traffic along the corridor.
