I'm a SW London mobile cycle mechanic. There will be bikes, cycle advocacy, rugby, food, wine, beer, family and thoughts on the world. I try to be amusing when I can.

The truly shocking new revelations about Lord Peter Mandelson's relationship with Jeffrey Epstein will surely end his time in British public life.

A rare day on a commuter train, off to learn stuff. Against my better judgement I bought a takeaway coffee. Can the chains please accept that a "small" cup is still too big for a cappuccino

I have a subscription to some smelly soaps. The company is a smaller US brand. I was going to cancel but I noticed they are from California, part of the Rebel Alliance (?). Do I cancel?

Watched One Battle after Another, a great film. A few years ago a story about a white supremacist federal agents chasing down libs might be considered a distopian fantasy. It now looks like a docu-drama

After 30 years my JBW speakers packed up following my amp last year. I treated myself to some Fyne speakers and they sound superb.

All day fixing other people's bikes means my own bikes get neglected.
Finally had to give the @ternbicycles GSD some attention, new chainring, chain, gear cable, cassette and a free hub and rear mech clean.

There is lots of speculation that the US Air force build up in the UK is in preparation for a Greenland attack. If this Government allows the UK to be platform for such a venture, I will be out in the streets with the millions of others.

No mountain bike ride today. Plugged the main battery in last night, didn't notice the charger was disconnected. This is all the range extender can offer 😭
Too late to get the road bike out

Whilst trimming a brake cable outer, the cut part flew straight up my nostril. As far as I can tell it's still up there. 😳

10yrs I've been taking my 18yo son to bike races, this is the first time I've refused. Why? The last race, National CX, was the last straw, F*ck, Pr*ck, C*nt were all used by the ungrateful sod as we prepared for the races over the last couple of years, and I've had enough.

I'm going to the O2 tonight to watch Halestorm. Realised I also have a free afternoon so I might as well make a day of it. Need some suggestions of things to do before the gig.
I've lived in London for nearly 40 years so l needs to new/not obvious and cheap

New tyres for this young rider, great to see a kid's bike get do much use, it wears out the tread

The lad decided to do some CX training ahead of the national trophy this weekend. The green field he picked was the local cricket pitch outfield.
The local FB page suggests they aren't happy. He's 18

I was recently pondering what had become of a particular client. At lunchtime I had a call, this was the consequence of 2 years of no maintenance

Close pass tonight on the cargo bike. White Audi A6. Karen driving thinks if I cared about safety I'd be wearing a "f@cking helmet"

Very odd call from Sky, trying to upgrade me to Sky Sports because that now includes cycling. I didn't believe him. Anyone else heard this

It's not particularly busy in the bike fixing world at the moment. However I've had to turn down three jobs recently because they were conversations. Even if they were legal (!), I have to certify that the changes are safe if I work on it in any way.
