16 unfinished wooden toy catapults sit on my workbench. 2 had shipped yesterday of this cohort of 18, one of these was ordered in the wee hours this morning and will ship tomorrow. If a shop that makes handmade wooden toys has to have a problem, I suppose “continually running out of stock” isn’t the worst one to have. Also, eat the fucking rich.

Finally through the main assembly phase on these catapults. Nearly done with this whole-ass artillery battery. Hopefully I can get back to those locomotives soon!
Seventeen mostly-completed rubber band powered catapults sit on my bench along with various hand and power tools, and 4 nearly-completed steam locomotives collect a thin layer of sawdust in the background, silently pleading to be finished and sent to forever homes to bring happiness and joy to homes around the country.

The first of 10 yo-yos coming of the lathe this morning. I call this style “Bullseye”. Some of the others on deck today are Speed Racer, Padaukadunk, and Oreyoyo.
A yo-yo made of layers - Maple, Walnut, Maple, and Padauk in order of decreasing size circles - rests on a pen mandrel on my lathe. On my workbench sit 18 wooden squares, some solid, some combinations of contrasting wood species, each with a hole drilled through the center and a brass tube glued into the hole. These will soon be turned into yo-yos for kids of all ages to enjoy.
