#DCU attempting to bring him back on a TAM deal isn’t lunacy, but if he walks, they better not miss on his replacement. With their track record, however, I’m not optimistic. Separately, dunno why he’d take a TAM deal since he’s literally the only relevant aspect of the club the last two seasons.
As expected, D.C. United declines Christian Benteke’s contract option, making him a free agent, but “we remain in discussions regarding a potential return.”

Very familiar #DCU story. GM fires coach, claims it is a playoff-worthy roster. Rushton/Kasper also pulled this move with Losada a few years ago. A new coach didn’t fix it then; I don’t see a new coach fixing it now either. It cost everyone their job last time. This time? We will see…

#DCU picking up where they left off in ‘24: Benteke and an opportunistic press create goals, but defensive lapses give them right back, and once again they are dropping points from a winning position. Feels like it’s gonna be a long year.
