Louisville’s first lobbying ordinance was enacted in November 2022. It called for online access to reports - as is common in cities our size - but Metro has never followed through and access to reports is difficult. To preserve the American Dream of owning a home, Kentucky needs a big, bold investment now. I'm proposing a game-changing $150 million investment in Kentucky's Affordable Housing Trust Fund.
Combined with private funding, it will create $1 billion in new housing.

Louisville Free Public Library needs $2 million annually to reduce unacceptable wait times for books and other materials. Metro is challenging the community to match a $1 million appropriation this first year.

The Gateway on Broadway development was funded in part with American Rescue Plan dollars appropriated by Metro Council in November 2021. What a remarkable transformation!

Last year, Nashville voters approved a bold plan and half-cent sales tax for improved buses, sidewalks and traffic and it’s now resulting in free bus rides for the poor, among many other things. “Choose How You Move” is a highly successful initiative of a new Mayor. www.axios.com/local/nashvi...

The expanded and renovated Portland Library is a wonderful addition to one of Louisville’s historic neighborhoods. The project - the ribbon for which will be cut on December 2 - started with Metro Council’s allocation of American Rescue Plan funds in June of 2022.

Coalition for the Homeless staff and board members were at the Salvation Army today, handing out backpacks full of supplies to Louisvillians and connecting them to other resources. Thanks to Councilman Ken Herndon for stopping by and to all partners for participating.

Great to see The Chancery ribbon cutting today. It will provide 34 more units of permanent supportive housing in Louisville, which is the proven best way to address chronic homelessness. The project started with a Metro Council appropriation of American Rescue Plan funds in November 2021.
