In Louisville, the changes could cause more than half the 1,900 people in what’s called permanent supportive housing to lose housing and services, including counseling, mental health and addiction treatment, financial education and other help. kentuckylantern.com/2025/11/24/m...
Many Kentuckians at risk of returning to homelessness because of federal funding switch • Kentucky Lantern

Here we go again. More Frankfort overreach and more attacks on local control. The proposal would preempt an enacted Louisville ordinance. It should be vigorously opposed by Louisville officials. kentuckylantern.com/2025/11/20/3...

Good to see @repmcgarvey.bsky.social speaking out on Capitol Hill today, recounting bare shelves and lines for food here and this: “To Donald Trump, come to Louisville, Kentucky, look those people in the eye and tell them you’ve made the choice to take away their food”.

Great to see The Chancery ribbon cutting today. It will provide 34 more units of permanent supportive housing in Louisville, which is the proven best way to address chronic homelessness. The project started with a Metro Council appropriation of American Rescue Plan funds in November 2021.

Tremendous crowd in Louisville today, hearing from @repmcgarvey.bsky.social and others and marching downtown. Republicans who have characterized today’s demonstrators as people who hate America are not only wrong but in for a rude awakening. #NoKings

Louisville’s previous policy on ICE holds didn’t violate federal law. That’s why the Trump administration has suffered a string of court losses, 50 jurisdictions have an injunction against Trump’s threats and Louisville is the ONLY city that capitulated.

Home rule is in a sad state in Kentucky. Sometimes, it’s the General Assembly preempting local laws; sometimes, it’s the Supreme Court declaring local laws invalid even when it’s far from clear that was the legislature’s intent. Frankfort exerts more & more control and local government gets weaker.
