Ants recycle/reuse a bee hive in my tree! I had no idea. External April 2025 video: Beehive & Oak Titmouse nest box co-existed. INTERNAL (endoscopic camera) Sept. 2025 video: Ants have taken over that same bee hive. Did bees abandon it first? Nature constantly surprises me! Videos next.

I've a male Nuttall's woodpecker roosting nightly in a box. He prefers the entry hole facing the ground! He likes the "privacy panel" (roof overhang). He's adorable! Some mornings, he pokes his head out, surveys the scene, remembers Trump is pres. & goes back inside for a bit.

3 drones above the Salinas protest. Know nothing about them. Note supportive honking. ❤️ Today's protest area typically was where conservative, anti-gay(Prop 8), Republicans/MAGA folks "went public". Not Today! Significantly, 1st time I saw many Hispanics and Whites protesting together. Beautiful!

My friend's family participated in the 7 miles along the El Camino Real from Palo Alto to Sunnyvale today for the No Kings protest. Other friends/family said around 5K people in Ventura, CA protested at the gov't center in town.

What's this? Instead of an empty Nest Box #1, as expected since all the hatchlings fledged yesterday, there's a lone mystery egg! Hmmmm. Stay tuned. Further observations will explain this. I've some guesses.

The Oak Titmouse hatchlings fledged yesterday (5-4-25) from Nest Box #1! Caught 4 on video (below)! However, I had a big surprise waiting for me in the same box today. A few hypotheses about this mystery. See next photo. A lone egg the next day after all birds fledged! Hmmm.
