What a nice word.
This morning’s sunshine has reminded me of the word ‘philocaly’: a love of beauty, even in the smallest things.

Sadly they’re my water company.
If you are unlucky enough to have Thames Water as your supplier your bills will go up an average of £226 a year this April.

Why?

It's not because of all these lies, it's to pay their debts that they built up to give out billions in fake profits to themselves.

I’ve deliberately avoided watching any news today but sadly this doesn’t surprise me.
After a long day’s work I have only just tuned in for today’s news.
The very first thing I see is this.
I am both shocked and aghast.
What the hell are we living through!
Trump's right hand man (literally) just casually giving the Nazi salute... twice.

No. I can resist anything except temptation.
Does anybody actually do any of these months where you are supposed to stop doing something?

Not sure how to word this. Yes it’s awful. But is there a sense of compassion fatigue for eg Ukraine/Middle East. Is there something more about celebrity suffering?
I wish news reports would stop reeling off the names of all the celebrities who’ve lost homes in the Palisades wildfires. I’m sorry they’ve lost their homes, but they’ve probably got other homes to go to. I really feel for the ordinary people who’ve lost absolutely everything.

While we’re banning books…

Finland is teaching children in school how to recognize fake news and propaganda as part of critical thinking and civic responsibility. Some of this will seem very familiar.

Be. Like. Finland.

Great word.
Word of the Day, should you need it, is ‘crapulence’ (18th century): sickness or indisposition resulting from excessive drinking or eating.

Love my local library.
just a reminder that your local library has more than just books! many also have dvds, cds, video games, internet hot spots, grindr hookup spots, chupacabras, streaming services, ebooks, audio books, skibidi toilets, gateways to the shadow realm, and so much more! maybe it's time for a visit! ❤️📚❤️📚❤️📚

Don't watch tv on Christmas Day. Caught up with the Gavin & Stacey finale tonight. Tad emotional.

Sad but true.

Nice.
Word of the day is ‘bellycheer’ (16th century): feasting, gluttony, and ‘the gratification of the belly’.

Can’t disagree with this.
Far too much of this.

A quick survey (ok, 3 people) none of them know much about the ECHR (they're friends in case you're wondering) but they don't want to leave it.
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage says the public want to leave the ECHR

Let him know he’s wrong by sharing this widely
Reform UK leader Nigel Farage says

“We need to leave the ECHR so we can deport people that come illegally & take back control of our borders & that’s what the public wants”

Share if you disagree with his populist boll**** the UK should join Russia & Belarus outside the ECHR

If that disgusting racist and grifting liar Nigel Farage shouldn't have been on Question Time even once, nevermind 38 times.

Give this a Like, or better yet a RP.

You're not alone. Me & OH don't buy each other presents, we prefer holidays (realise we're lucky). I reached state pension age last month and have treated myself to some gifts in recognition of that. There was a time I didn't think I'd make it.

Totally agree. My local library has knitting, chess sessions etc.
This is your reminder to get a library card. They have so many services and basically all of them are free.
