Alright. Its time for the Pride Rant. I just want to preface this thread with a couple of things. First off, content warnings for homophobia, violence, and self harm. Second, I am leaving this open to comments, but I'm not looking for an argument. If your response is to "yeah but" me, don't bother.

This week's Japanese yojijukugo (four-character idiom) is 一期一会 (ichigo ichie): "treasure every encounter, for it will never recur". It's a common choice as a favorite phrase by native Japanese speakers, and has also been adopted into Chinese to an extent (same characters, pronunciation: yīqī yīhuì).

I'm glad to be comfortable being openly #gay at work and in my other social circles; it's a huge contrast from where I was ~10 years ago. I do kinda wish that being #furry was the same way; I'm not comfortable being open about it at work or any social circles, don't feel like it'd be well received.

One of my favorite #haiku ( #俳句 ) is:

You may already know this, but aside from having stanzas of 5, then 7, then 5 syllables, a traditional Japanese #haiku ( #俳句 ) was also expected to have a seasonal word (記号 - kigo) alluding to one of the four seasons, and a cutting word (切れ字 - kireji) adding emphasis and closure to a stanza. (1/2)

This week I learned 狡兎三窟 (kouto sankutsu in Japanese, jiǎotù sānkū in Mandarin) - "a crafty rabbit has three holes", as in a wise or sly person will have multiple backup plans, advice given to a Chinese feudal lord more than 2,000 years ago. Good to be careful, good to be prepared!　#ことわざ

These last several months, I've been avoiding most gaming; I get sucked into games easily, and have been too busy with work for that.
