I think this reflects our urge to believe that people who do bad or monstrous things are monsters themselves, rather than deeply flawed human beings who are capable of empathy, creating art, etc, in addition to doing monstrous things.

To me, this makes the terrible actions of artists I admire...
I don’t like how as soon as a creator is revealed to be a bad person people start saying “well their art always sucked.” No, unfortunately bad people can make good art and good people can make bad art. You as an adult should have enough emotional intelligence to navigate that
hmmm not sure if that’s actually true…

You've been kidnapped. A character from the last TV show you watched is trying to rescue you. Who is coming to save you?

OH, GOOD.

More people calling out the recycled Suppressed Memory/Satanic Panic bullshit known as The Body Keeps the Score.

Let’s do this more. A lot. It’s a trash book that retraumatizes victims, victim blames, and valorizes violence against women and children.

And he’s a sexual harasser.
What the most famous book about trauma gets wrong
People kept telling me to read "The Body Keeps the Score." I was shocked at what it actually says.

#StandingStoneSunday
Another from 2011 - this time Kinniside Stone Circle, which I was delighted to find just across from our B&B. I believe it has been restored at some point.

For my first #StandingStoneSunday, here's a lovely little circle in Dartmoor, taken on a trip in 2011. I don't know what it's called - we just saw it from the road and I had to get out and take a look (and a photo).

So will AI force is to resurrect the author?

(Not disagreeing with the point, but it raises interesting questions about how AI might influence/change perspectives on sentient authorship.)
this thing where AI boosters have lost track of the fact that what's interesting in writing is the perspective of the mind behind the writing. Even something purely factual, you are looking through somebody else's eyes. The minds of LLMs are fucking boring! they don't care about or want anything!

Very sad news from the UK re: the Sycamore Gap Tree. Heartbreaking.

Unfortunately here in Australia far too many people are dismissive of sacred and culturally significant trees, such as the birthing trees of the Djab Wurrung people.
