Maybe unpopular opinion, but bluesky should show country of origin on all accounts. Let's avoid the professional trolls.

Great thread on concentration.

Here's some thoughts on what we'd need to do to decentralized apps like signal. 1/
📣THREAD: It’s surprising to me that so many people were surprised to learn that Signal runs partly on AWS (something we can do because we use encryption to make sure no one but you–not AWS, not Signal, not anyone–can access your comms).

It’s also concerning. 1/
PSA: we're aware that Signal is down for some people. This appears to be related to a major AWS outage. Stand by.

the nfl should award one point (followed by immediate change of possession) if any player, at any point in a play and from anywhere on the field, throws a ball through the uprights

Just got followed by bots, we have roughly 1-2 years left before Bluesky devolves to pre-musk Twitter where all replies are functionally useless due to the sheer amount of simulated noise.

(post-musk Twitter is still terrible compared to this)

It is always helpful to step away and examine your problems from a distance. Far too often I have found that it is within my power to change things.

Congratulations to the Eagles!

Chiefs are still on an absolutely amazing run, no team has ever done what the chiefs have done in the last 7 years.

As a young boy, I watched the chiefs playoffs losses over and over. Still so amazed we made it to a superbowl on my lifetime. let alone win 3!

Don't want to hear anything about chiefs getting all the calls :)

I don't know them, but Ian is an inspiration to me, If anyone has a non-us based role willing to sponsor a US person, please consider them.

Now that DeepSeek is having an impact on the US stock market, I expect a huge negative press cycle designed to discredit their advancement is on the way.

Feeling bad today, gotta resist posting spicy takes. I feel like that's probably a recipe for posting something I'd regret. lots of news pissing me off and making me sad lately.

If you are reading this, what's one positive thing that is happening/will happen soon?

Theater Experience is basically only for big, amazing movies with crazy sound tracks these days.

One of the best experiences thus year was re-runs of classics like interstellar in theater.

I think this is the future, play the big, amazing sounding classics in theaters to stay afloat.

Hey @bsky.app if you are going to autoplay videos, AT LEAST make the universal default to mute videos.

Also pretty please don't default play videos :)

LLM AI is like the smartest person you know bullshitting you.

They're so smart it's likely true, but it could also just be completely bullshit.

With that in mind, I think the best term for LLM models for the public would be "Bullshit Engines"

Thought: I make a youtube short that is literally just a still shot with where various parts of car are on a particular model.

no intro, just audio and an arrow "the transmission dipstick is in the front right on a 2008 totota highlander"

ads at the end so youtube makes it findable.
