If you’ve read my reporting from Palestine you’ve almost certainly read about the people of Umm al Khair. Last week the Israeli military issued demolition orders that would erase the entire village.
URGENT: Demolitions of 14 homes and community spaces in the West Bank community of Umm al-Khair could begin as early as THIS SUNDAY, NOVEMBER 9, potentially leaving around 100 people (including children) homeless, with winter rapidly approaching.

Italian dock workers have done more to stop the genocide that almost ANY GOVERNMENT IN THE WORLD.
🇮🇹🪧 NEW: Italian dockworkers have struck again. On Sept. 24, grassroots unions USB and Cobas blocked the Maltese-flagged, Greek-owned tanker Seasalvia from docking in Taranto, where it was set to load 30,000 tons of crude oil at ENI’s refinery for Israel’s military aviation fuel needs before…

The United Nations employee who sabotaged the escalator and made our President pant and groan up the stairs like a dying badger should be severely chided!

Can’t help but remember interviews with many ICE detainees who told me that Tylenol was the only medicine prisoners were ever given, no matter the illness, no matter if they were dying.

Threatening to get someone fired because you don’t like something they said is actually sniveling, cowardly, and pathetic.

No better way to honor a fallen free speech warrior than with an immediate crackdown on free speech.

Imagine saying “political violence is antithetical to America” again and again and nonetheless believing that words have some relation to events in the world.

Awdah published this piece last week. He was killed yesterday. “Our children ask us why this is happening, but we have no answers.”

In Umm al-Khair, the occupation is damning us to multigenerational trauma
I saw the first bulldozers arrive in my village 17 years ago. Now, after the most brutal weeks in our history, my son will carry similarly painful memories.

The settler in this video shot and killed Awdah Hathaleen today in the West Bank village of Umm al Khair. I last saw Awdah in November. He was a teacher and an activist who struggled courageously for his people. He should have lived a lot longer.

The red-baiting and Islamophobic attacks on Zohran Mamdani by the Dem establishment and corporate media make it excessively clear that repressive, anti-democratic, fascistic tendencies are not just a Republican problem.

If this round is over, let it be remembered that even while under heavy missile fire from Iran, Israeli forces did not cease baiting the Palestinians they have been starving with food aid and then massacring them day after day after day.

Israeli massacres of starving Palestinians lined up for food have become a daily occurrence, the ghoulish humanitarian face of genocide.
🚨BREAKING: Associated Press reports at least 38 Palestinians have been shot dead on Monday near U.S.- and Israeli-controlled GHF food distribution centers, according to Gaza’s Health Ministry.

Great piece by @melissagiragrant.com: “For Bass, it seemed, the problem was not that the LAPD was violently policing those protesting ICE raids; the problem was Trump’s calling in the National Guard to do the same thing.”
