What does methodological quality mean for qualitative & quantitative research? We review debates, highlight skepticism & possibilities, and call for a differentiated approach.

I have a new paper out in @wepsocial.bsky.social: www.tandfonline.com/doi/full/10....
The paper situates discussions about the Educational Cleavage in a longer temporal context (back to the Medieval time) to show that there have ALWAYS been conflicts between educational groups. (1/3)

Prime Minister Tusk's coalition is much more diverse than Germany's former 'traffic-light coalition'🚦ever was. Nevertheless, the coalition holds.
Poland’s government has won a vote of confidence in parliament called by Prime Minister Donald Tusk in the wake of the recent presidential election victory for opposition-aligned conservative Karol Nawrocki

Had he lost, Tusk would have had to resign.

Trade unions in Germany are no longer fighting for the 4-day working week.

According to Ch.Benner (chairwoman of IG Metall): “It is the employers who are reducing working times. They do this to compensate for lack of business but at the expense of the employees.”

🔑 Due to their high union membership & high level of activity within trade unions, blue-collar workers and low-service functionaries show a strong correlation with union positions on welfare state reforms.
