Late in the day but today was the 124 anniversary of the formation of the Commonwealth Of Australia. The day we became an independent country, “Australia Day”. But as usual it barely rates a mention in the media or general national consciousness. 🇦🇺

Just reflecting on the weekends racing and firstly I for one was too cautious with Overpass, he was an even money chance and too good. Get that Sandown meeting back to Sandown ASAP, and long distance racing around a figure 8 or similar track has possibilities.

I do hope today’s Australian Open was the last in this format. We had 950 in the world prevail over 450 in the world while the Group with 3 Women’s major winners in it relegated to a side show finishing 2 hours earlier. I understand how the event ended up like this but it simply doesn’t work.
