Worth lifting up that the article notes that family homelessness could be ended for just under $1 billion.

We could have 2/3 of a ship or no homeless parents and kids. We chose the ship.

A fabulous and easy-to-read report from @naehomelessness.bsky.social. You all should!

This line will resonate with me for a while: "Housing First isn't failing; the nation is failing to provide Housing First."

Cowards everywhere these days. We're really going to pretend like the 10-minute red face sequence in Peter Pan isn't deeply problematic because some carnival barker is President now? That it's totally normal and appropriate for a character to be named Jim the Crow? Nah, screw that wapo.st/4hPZ3pX
Disney scales back content warnings on classic films amid DEI shift

The Trump administration has pulled down the Violence Against Women Act landing page from HUD.gov. I guess serving survivors of domestic violence is “woke” now? I’d say I’m surprised but when the President is a widely known unrepentant serial abuser I guess I shouldn’t be shocked.

Quick note to all the folks saying “give Trump a chance” it’s been a week now and he’s banned vetted refugees, set quotas for deportations and banned me from saying a list of words at work. So…pretty much everything we were expecting has happened and it’s miserable.

And eggs are still $7 a dozen.

I love Pennsylvania so much (Go Birds! 🦅) but we have the absolute sorriest pair of Senators of any State in the nation. Both Fetterman and McCormick send calls straight to voicemail and both voicemail boxes are completely full. Pathetic representation.

I've never regretted a vote more than the one I cast for John Fetterman for Senator from PA. He’s been terrible in many ways but co-sponsoring this bill that will allow mere accusations of wrongdoing to up-end the lives of immigrants in our community is the final straw. rollcall.com/2025/01/20/d...

Update: we won. Unfortunately, this will not be the final fight either here in the City, across the County and across the country but we will keep fighting to preserve people’s dignity and choice until every single person has a home.

2025 is going to be a year of political action to protect the most vulnerable in our communities. The first opportunity to do this is happening right now- and it is right here in Lancaster with our own "progressive" City government.

U.S. homelessness surged 18 percent to record level, annual report says
The report attributed the historically high number to several factors, including a multi-year surge in home prices and a reduction in covid-era assistance.

In a few days Christians worldwide will retell a story about a young woman in labor who gave birth in a manger because she had nowhere else to go.

2000 years later and a young woman in labor who has nowhere to go gets a ticket for being homeless.

This. This. 1000x this!

Spare me the takes that Kamala Harris lost because the party is too “woke” and that we should sacrifice Trans people to win elections. It’s wrong, both politically and morally, and AOCs talking points here should be replicated by all Dems.
AOC comes out swinging against a Nancy Mace for targeting Sarah McBride.

"They're doing this so that Nancy Mace can ... fundraise off an email. They're not doing this to protect people. They're endangering women, they're endangering girls of all kinds. And everybody should reject it. It's gross."
