Despite small delays, we feel our actions and their effects happen at the same time due to our brain's ability to adapt and recalibrate.
Recalibration of perceived agency transfers across modalities | Royal Society Open Science
We experience our actions and their sensory consequences as synchronous despite small sensorimotor delays. This is attained by an adaptation process in which the sensorimotor system recalibrates tempo...

Preprint alert!
In our latest study, we show that affective context can shape how we feel touch during movement. In a virtual reality environment, participants moved their hands to avoid spiders or approach rabbits by extending or flexing their arms while we measured tactile sensitivity.

OK I had announced this before but forgot to say that Andrew Gelman would be joining Nancy Cartwright and myself as well. Short idea talks, lots of panel discussion and Q&A.

Join us on April 25th to discuss RCTs, replications, and scientific inference.
