Ah yes, go ahead and consider blanket bans of trans women from women's sports...

Please IOC, show me how that is proportionate.

They'll do what they like ofc especially with the leadership and US political situation (around LA28).

“In all the five policy areas, the ECHR places significant constraints," Lord Wolfson found.

Yes... that's kind of the point? Genuinely distressed that we've ended up at the point where Human Rights protections up for wholesale removal because our leaders want an easier answer to their challenges.

Did some writing recently...

Some thoughts on flags: ljames.dev/whose-ground...

Some thoughts on two-tier policing: ljames.dev/from-social-...

I'm not a leader in this space, but I wanted to put my thoughts down somewhere.
Whose Ground, Whose Symbols?
There are many reasons to fly a flag and many places where flags have been flown throughout history. They have been used as signifiers of armies on battlefields, as indications of allegiance or owners...

> Digital ID to make illegal employment practices extra illegal. Just like banning car-theft gadgets when car-theft is already illegal.

Politicians: Congrats everyone — we’ve solved crime.

Well I'm beginning to see some strong correlation between my burn out and my getting sick.

Even if this was food poisoning it feels pretty damn convenient to knock me off my feet for several days after I reached the conclusion I needed a break.

So I have another variant of the USB rotation problem.

I can never open a fresh packet of medication the right way around. Always ends up with the documentation first (which invariably nerd snipes me for a few minutes) before I can get at the meds.

While I can look at the NHS Fife lawsuit situation as what it is, a media circus by the same old organisations and people looking to maximise harm.

It is causing a substantially larger drag on my media tolerance. It also feels like the regular queer voices I turn to are relatively quiet.

I've not posted on here recently, feels like I've been a busy 🐝 and had very little additional headspace recently.

No progress on:
- learning driving theory
- finding a driving instructor
- baudpunk
- Chartership applications (CEng, CIISec)

Just caught myself modelling society as a stuck optimisation problem.
The political–societal–business social contract feels trapped in a local minima—not good, but stable. Getting out would mean big, disruptive changes…

I had some half baked/long shower/bath thoughts?

Feel free to skip if you don't want to read rambling 😁

Why Cyber-Physical over Operational Technology?
I am a lady of many opinions... To the point where it is a joke among my colleagues and myself that pigs will fly if I don't chime in on a conversation where there is no clear answer. It is important...

So begins my 2 weeks of 'not regular work'.

Week 1 - CyberUK2025, giving a technical masterclass on Supply Chains and a bit of Cybersecurity. Lots of networking, brand building, & a bit of minor activism by showing up & being visible @ women's events, and bathrooms (depending on my anxiety level)

So I'm acutely aware that I'm a manifestation of the trans boogie-woman that the GCs and TERFs use in their rhetoric.

I am not a lawyer, nor a gender theorist yet I'm fortunate enough to several - many of whom are trans, NB or GNC.

It's always interesting to see transphobes play at victimhood while bringing the full force of the political and media class crashing down on some blameless young trans woman.

Red Sullivan has more dignity and courage in her little finger than these disgusting bigots have between them.

Feeling pretty good this morning.

Nothing like a brisk walk along the river and a glorious sunny morning to wake you up

So I'm giving a technical masterclass on Supply Chain Cybersecurity.

Today is Trans Day of Visibility (TDoV).

In recent months, I’ve realised I want my career to grow upward—not just for my own development, but to help others find space and success in Security Engineering, as I have done.

I'm now instinctively reacting whenever anyone talks about "waste" in a system with cynicism.

Consistently hearing about waste in the NHS or in the Federal Government but rarely any reflection on 'why' things are the way they are.

Get to go back to undergraduate statistics today to ensure a quality Cyber Security report...
